about

These two tracks were the soundtrack for a video project entitled "Uforia", created in April 1998 for the 1998 Videopticon video art festival held at the Georgia Institute of Technology, which I co-established in 1996 alongside Matthew Causey.

The introduction track was constructed from alien conspiracy videos found on the internet at the time, along with some other more notable quotes. The backing noise on the track consists of midnight AM radio mixed with the difficult sounds produced by loading a corrupted Macromedia Director file into a sound editor.

The more musical second piece was created entirely on a Roland MC-303. There isn't much more to say about that, other than that I believe this was influenced at the time by DJ Soul Slinger's alien drum'n'bass works.

Both tracks were remastered and tweaked in January 2021 for re-release.
